Resistor Color Codes

Resistor color codes are used to show the value of resistors in a uniform, easy to read manner. Position the resistor so that the body of the resistor is horizontal with the colored stripes closest to the left side of the body. The first and second color stripes are the first and second significant figures of the value of the resistor in ohms. The third color stripe is the power of 10 by which to multiply the significant figures.
